What a beautiful ride it was my first TV Show! It all started from a fun, improvised and unusual interview on top of a Wyoming Mountain after climbing with friends. Quite a lovely zoom backdrop!

As each episode of this show tackled one very specific topic, during the interview I pitched to Oz the idea to assign one or two colors and a relative color palette to each episode and he loved the idea. Oz, Eric (DP) and I brainstormed colors for each episode and I made some boards for the crew:

For Episode #101 one of the main sets we built was a 90's Innercity apartment. Some references, drawings and pics below:

One of the most fun sets I got design for the show was for episode #102: a TV set for a 'Family Feud' inspired sketch. The drawing below it's how it started:
A 3D rendering, tons of technical drawings and some adjustments - due to stage dimensions and budget - followed:

Then the building started!

Ready to shoot!

We had many locations on this Tv Show, but one definitely stood out. We were so lucky to shoot in one of NY landmark buildings, the Seagram building designed by genius Mies Van Der Rohe. And when such an architecture marries with the incredible interior design of Peter Marino, you get the beautiful Lobster Club!
Now, you would wonder what can I do better than them, well nothing really but as everyone knows even the best locations are never ready to shoot!
We couldn't clear the art, and especially the three large pieces below needed to be replaced:

Funny enough my art references for that set were very close in style to the Peter Marino painting. One of references was Mickeline Thomas.

We couldn't find artworks that would match the large size and budget, so I decided to make them in a few 'spare' hours. To make it quick and mess free I used my Ipad:

Probably not as good as Marino or Van Der Rohe, but not too bad either :)
